Real solutions, not slogans

What Bag Design & Development need from a bag manufacturer

Turning an idea into a bag that can be made — and re-made consistently — is its own craft. Here are the four things that usually go wrong, and how SYMPATHYBAG’s R&D team fixes them.

SYMPATHYBAG solving sourcing problems for Bag Design & Development
01

Only a sketch, no tech-pack

Most factories want finished drawings before they’ll even quote, so a good idea stalls at the starting line.

The answer

SYMPATHYBAG’s in-house R&D and pattern-makers develop from any starting point — a sketch, a reference bag or a full tech-pack — into production-ready patterns and a costed bill of materials.

02

The sample never matches the design

Wrong proportions, wrong hardware, wrong colour — and weeks lost going back and forth.

The answer

SYMPATHYBAG builds to a documented spec: every dimension, stitch, material, Pantone and component is written down, and the first VIP sample lands in 3 days, free on development projects.

03

No idea what it will cost or when

Open-ended timelines and fuzzy pricing make it impossible to plan a launch.

The answer

You get a clear milestone path — concept, CAD/mock-up, sample sign-off, bulk — with fixed lead times and a transparent cost breakdown before any tooling is cut.

04

Worried your design will leak

Handing a new concept to a factory feels risky when that factory sells to everyone.

The answer

Your designs, patterns and tooling stay exclusive and confidential; SYMPATHYBAG signs an NDA up front and never resells your product to another buyer.

FAQ

Bag Design & Development ask SYMPATHYBAG

Yes. That is the core of this service. You can come to SYMPATHYBAG three ways: with a finished tech-pack for the team to build to print, with a physical sample for the team to reverse-engineer, or with just a sketch, reference image, or idea. In the last case SYMPATHYBAG's in-house R and D and pattern-making team develops it with you, producing CAD drawings and patterns from scratch.

It covers 2D/3D and CAD design support, pattern-making, prototyping, and a pre-production sample. SYMPATHYBAG confirms your materials, hardware, dimensions, and construction, makes prototypes, refines them with you, and produces a final pre-production sample that you sign off. That signed-off sample is the reference standard for bulk production and QC.

For development projects, VIP or development samples are free and take about 3 days. A standard sample is US$98 and takes about 7 days, and that fee is refundable on your first bulk order. Timing can vary with complexity and any special materials or hardware that need to be sourced.

Standard MOQ is 500 pieces per design and colourway; simple promotional bags can start around 200 to 300 pieces. After you sign off the pre-production sample, bulk production runs about 25 to 35 days, with 4-stage in-line QC (IQC, IPQC, FQC, OQC) and testing to QB/T and GB/T standards. Third-party or AQL inspection is welcome.

You send your idea, tech-pack, or sample and SYMPATHYBAG reviews feasibility and materials. The team creates CAD drawings and a first pattern, then makes a prototype and refines it with you. Once the design is right, SYMPATHYBAG produces a pre-production sample for your sign-off. After approval, the factory moves to bulk production and QC. SYMPATHYBAG's in-house R and D team handles the development end to end, so you have one point of contact from sketch to shipment.
